How a pickup works

I keep things straightforward so you don’t have to figure out what’s what. Just tell me what you’ve got and where it is.

Step 1 – Reach out
  • Text or call: (989) 431-9044
  • Tell me your town and a rough idea of what you have (for example: “5 towers, 3 laptops, random cords”).
  • If you can, send a quick photo of the pile – that helps me plan loading and trips.
Step 2 – We pick a time
  • I work a swing shift, so I’m used to odd hours – evenings and weekends are often possible.
  • We’ll agree on a day/time, and I’ll come to your home, school, shop, or small business.
  • If access is tricky (stairs, basements, etc.), just let me know ahead of time.
Step 3 – Loading & sorting
  • I load everything up and keep it separated and organized instead of just tossing it all together.
  • In my work area, I sort by type of metal, boards, wire, and plastics to get it ready for proper recycling and scrap yards.
  • Anything that’s still usable may be saved for parts or future projects instead of immediately scrapped.
Step 4 – Where it goes
  • Sorted boards, metals, and materials go to scrap and recycling partners I’m building relationships with.
  • Batteries and sensitive items are handled with extra care, based on current safety guidance and the training I’ve completed.
  • Over time, I’m working toward more certifications and documented processes so everything stays as safe and responsible as possible.
I’m still growing this business, but safety and respect for your equipment comes first. If I don’t know the safest way to handle something, I won’t guess – I’ll research it or say no.

What I can't take (for now)

Some items need special systems, equipment, or legal setups that I’m still working toward.

Generally not accepted right now
  • Loose or damaged lithium batteries* without proper packaging.
  • Vape devices in bulk (especially if leaking or damaged).
  • Large appliances like fridges, AC units, or anything with refrigerant.
  • Old CRT TVs and monitors (heavy glass tubes) unless arranged ahead of time.
Why I’m careful here
  • Some items need special fire, spill, or hazmat handling that I’m setting up properly before taking them on.
  • I’d rather say “not yet” than take something I can’t honestly handle the right way.
  • If you’re unsure, just ask. I’ll tell you honestly if I can take it, or point you toward other options if I know any.

*Lithium & vape items: I’m actively working on the right storage, labeling, and training to handle these safer in the future. As that comes together, this section will be updated.

Do you charge for pickup?

For most normal household or small business loads within my range, pickup is free. If you’re farther out or have a very small load, I might ask to bundle you with another trip or talk through options.

Can I drop items off instead?

In some cases, yes – but it has to be arranged ahead of time so I’m ready and set up to receive it. Text first and I’ll let you know what works.

Do you wipe or destroy data?

I’ve completed introductory training in cybersecurity and understand that your devices can still hold a lot of personal information. I’m working on the right certifications and systems to formally guarantee data destruction – until that’s fully in place, I treat drives carefully and can remove them for you to keep or destroy yourself if you prefer.

Are you a big company?

Nope – just me. Loop Tech Recovery is a one-person, owner-operated service I’m building from the ground up, focused on doing right by people, gear, and the environment.
